Like many other tourist attractions in this country, Chiang Rai White Temple closed their doors from visitors on 22nd March. Serving as an initiative to prevent the spread of Covid-19. However, the owner decided to utilize the situation properly and give the place a major uplift.
Free Visit For White Temple Reopening Day
On 16th June, the famous White Temple, or Wat Rong Khun, opened its doors once again to accept visitors. Making a flashy grand reopening, visitors were greeted with a graceful traditional dance performance in front of the majestic temple.
Originally, visitors will have to pay a fee of ฿50 ( ~USD1.50) to enter the White Temple but on that day it was free! How cool was that?
Applying Safety Measures
As a part of a responsible community, the temple also did its part in ensuring everyone’s safety. The provided a temperature screening point at the entrance with hand sanitizers as well. Visitors were also advised to allow 1-2 meters of distance between each other.
Exclusive Tour By The Founder
Founder and famous artist, Chalermchai Kositpipat, became the tour guide for the day. Giving exclusive tours around the temple. Of course, the visitors were either locals or expatriates. You should really check this place out. Witnessing this breathtaking temple with your own eyes will send chills down your spine.
